November News and Updates

From this month’s President’s newsletter, some news and updates for you.

This month brings the Annual General Meeting, traditionally (in whichever group you’re in) not the most exciting month in the calendar but vital for continued success. Thank you to those who were nominated who said yes to being put forward for the voting process. Voting will be followed by the normal business meeting followed by an activity with a Christmas theme. The competition is a seasonal decoration for a door – but which season will members focus on?

This month Marion will welcome contributions for use in the WI display for the Church this December. The Nativity is the theme every group has and so members have been asked for contributions of the Nativity characters, people being approx. 8 – 10” (or 20 – 25cm in new money) and animals in proportion to that. The displays from all village groups will be on display on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3pm from November 28th to December 24th.

We will also be giving more details for the Yeo Valley Group Carol Service. Thank you for all the carol suggestions. With so many uplifting and joyous tunes it was a struggle to choose the carols that best fit the Nativity theme and time available. We are hoping that we will have some willing helpers to help the committee host the event and welcome members from our local WIs. More at our meeting.
